Dev Gore to tackle Blancpain Endurance Series with Strakka Racing

4th April 2019

Strakka Racing is pleased to announce that Dev Gore has joined the team to compete in the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. He will make his Strakka debut at the 3h of Monza on Sunday 14 April.

21-year-old Dev hails from Atlanta in the USA and, after competing in the Florida Winter Tour and Rotax Grand Nationals, he took the overall titles of the US DD2 National and US Open DD2 championships in 2016. Those results secured him a place in Team USA at the Rotax Grand Finals.

Following his karting successes, Dev moved into the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, part of the Mazda Road to Indy development programme. He finished 13th overall in the 2017 series before moving to a part-season in the EuroFormula Open with Carlin in 2018.

Dev will be joined in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 car in Monza by Lewis Williamson, the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup ProAm Drivers Champion and Jack Hawksworth, who raced with Strakka at last year’s California 8 Hours. Lewis is also competing the remainder of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season with Strakka in the #44 car.

In 2019, the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup will comprise five races on some of the world’s best circuits; Monza, Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Spa Francorchamps and Barcelona, with the series’ jewel in the crown, the Spa 24 Hours, taking place on 27-28 July.

Dev Gore: “I am very honoured to have the opportunity to race with Mercedes-AMG performance team Strakka Racing in the 2019 Blancpain Endurance Series. This is an exciting opportunity that presents all new challenges to me but, I believe that that between the team at Strakka and with the support of Mercedes behind us, we can go out and compete at the top. I’m excited to get started and get to the first round with my teammates. It will be a long year with long races but I feel ready and I know the team is. Bring on 2019!”

Jay Davenport, Strakka Racing Director: “We’re pleased to be able to confirm Dev for the 2019 season of the Blancpain Endurance Cup. He joined us at Paul Ricard last month and we had a really constructive test. Together with Lewis and Jack, Dev will be undertaking his first GT race at the 3hrs of Monza. It will be a big learning curve for him but we’re confident that we have a great package to fight for great results there.”
