Strakka Racing will continue its campaign in the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at its home circuit of Silverstone, UK, on 11-12th May 2019.
The Northamptonshire-based outfit will field the #43 Mercedes-AMG GT3 piloted by British drivers Lewis Williamson and Jack Hawksworth, alongside American team-mate Dev Gore, who made his debut with Strakka Racing at the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season-opener in Monza last month.
Despite showing strong pace, the team’s result during the first event was thwarted by a puncture and safety car period. Strakka will be looking for better luck and stronger results in the second round, which will take place on Silverstone’s Grand Prix Circuit, where Strakka’s leading car finished eighth last season.
Dev Gore: “I’m feeling positive for the next round at Silverstone. We had the pace in Monza but were unlucky with a puncture that cost us time and positions. The final result wasn’t a true representation of the team’s efforts or our performance over the weekend, so I’m keen to get back on track and fight for positions at the front of the field, which is where I feel we should be. Silverstone is such an iconic circuit and I’m hoping we can reward the team with a strong finish at its home race.”
Jay Davenport, Strakka Racing Director: “Dev, Lewis and Jack worked well together during the first round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and I believe we have the potential for some strong results over the course of the season. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 has the pace and we’re hoping to convert this to points at our home race at Silverstone.”
The three-hour Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup race takes place at 15:00 GMT on Sunday 12th May 2019.
